B'Yachad Together: An Inclusive Shabbat Service

BYachadFlyerFinalIn the Bible, God states, “My house shall be a house for all peoples.”

We decided that we should live up to that commandment.
Therefore, we have created a new program called "B’Yachad Together" – an inclusive Shabbat experience.

Families with special needs will come together to celebrate Shabbat in an accessible environment designed to embrace a range of sensory, language, and learning differences.

We are proud to offer this first program on Friday May 4th, 5:30 – 7:00pm.

Preschool Highlights

We share in our families' pride in watching our children become Bar or Bat Mitzvah. As our children progress through Religious School they learn Hebrew, Jewish practice, worship, holidays and practice.  In seventh grade, our students review Shabbat prayers and work with our cantors, rabbis and tutors to learn their Torah and Haftarah portions.  Learn more about the tradition of Bar and Bat Mitzvah in this article by the URJ.

A Bar and Bat Mitzvah is only a step along our Jewish journey.  We encourage all of our students to continue on to our exceptional J.tel program.

*NEW* Bar and Bat Mitzvah students:  Login below to access the prayers.  You should have received an email from jacquelynn@northshoresynagogue.org with the user name and password.  If you don't have it, call the Main Office or ask your tutor or the cantor. If you can't reach them, email webmaster@northshoresynagogue.org (please include your name.)  Don't request the user name or password at "forgot your password" link below - it won't work.

North Shore Synagogue is committed to each child’s participation in our community and we recognize that every child has different needs. Special Education options will include pull-out tutoring, push-in inclusion support, Resource Room, and self-contained classes. Individualized education plans will be developed with parents along with our senior staff.

Meets Sundays 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. and Tuesdays 4:15 - 6:15 p.m.
